Rosie Motene: Levels of GBV in TV and film industry 'unacceptable'

Over the weekend, BET Africa canceled an interview with comedian Mongezi 'Tol Ass Mo' Mahlangu and his wife Mome on 'Behind the Story with Pearl Thusi' after outrage on social media. Mahlangu has been accused of rape by model Lerato Moloi. Motene has joined many South Africans in slamming the channel for interviewing a man accused of rape.

Cele said dedicated personnel would attend to the desk.

"So that the first contact with the police should be friendly... because we are told by the NPA you win or lose your case based on the first contact.

"So those people should have someone that is dedicated, it shouldn't be anybody at the police station at any given time.”

The minister said the dedicated officials would be trained specifically to deal with victims and work with the National Prosecuting Authority.
