Police studying footage of Mondeor stabbing

Video footage of the stabbing of a 19-year-old in Mondeor on Wednesday has been handed over to the police.

The grade 11 pupil was stabbed to death outside Mondeor High School, south of Johannesburg.
Gauteng education MEC Panyaza Lesufi visited the school shortly after the attack, and told the media that he is unable to share any details of the footage as it forms part of a criminal investigation.
"We've now handed over all those footages to the police. We are very reluctant to comment on the content on those footages because it may jeopardise the work the police are dealing with. As I said, there are various footages and they will be combined so they make sense.”

The victim’s uncle said the family is broken by the teenagers death, while describing him as someone with a bright future.
"To think it would end up like this? I wanted more for him,” he told reporters outside the school.
No arrests have been made.
