"During the search, boxes of illicit cigarettes were found hidden inside the boot," says Mojapelo.
He adds the 39-year-old was arrested on the spot.
Mojapelo says about 3712 boxes of illicit cigarettes were then discovered in the storage facility.
The total value of the seized illicit cigarettes is approximately R935 572.48.
The suspect is expected appear in the Louis Trichardt Magistrate's court on Monday for possession of illicit cigarettes.
