Polokwane abduction: Social workers to visit Limpopo family

The Department of Social Development will dispatch social workers to the family whose four children were abducted in Polokwane on Wednesday.

The siblings, aged between 6 and 15 from, were abducted by a group of men while on their way to school.
Limpopo Social Development MEC Nkakareng Rakgoale says they are obviously concerned for the safety of the young children.
“A team of social workers will this morning visit the family of the abducted children for them to start with the provision of psychosocial support. As a department, which has been tasked to ensure that children are cared for and protected at all times, we are worried about what happened, as this once again turned the spotlight on the safety of children.

“We urge anyone with information about the whereabouts of these children to contact the police. Our social workers will be with the family, while we are still praying and hoping for the safe return of the children.”
Police have appealed to any community members to come forward with any information that may assist in the investigation.
Rakgoale is expected to visit the family later on Thursday.
