Power restored in Lenasia after fire at Lotus substation

City Power says it has completed repairs at the fire-damaged Lotus substation in Lenasia.
A transformer at the substation caught fire on Sunday night, leaving several areas in the south of Johannesburg in the dark.
Affected areas included Vlakfontein extensions 1, 2, 3, Madala Section and Hospital Hills.
City Power spokesperson Isaac Mangena says the cause of the fire is being investigated.
"We have completed the repairs overnight; all the tests were passed including the transformer and the feeder board and we will load customers this morning and we urge the customers to unplug appliances when the is being restored.
"The damage of the fire is estimated around R15 million and investigations into the cause of the fire is being finalised and will be communicated to the public."
