Power system is stable
Updated | By ANA
The electricity system is constrained but stable, with no load shedding anticipated, Eskom said on Sunday.

“Some of our generating units are undergoing short-term planned maintenance over the weekend and the electricity system will be significantly tight until these units return back on line on Monday,” the parastatal said in a statement.
“Weekends are usually periods of low demand, however, we will utilise our emergency reserves to augment the capacity shortfall should demand increase beyond what is projected.
“We call on all electricity users to continue using electricity sparingly and to make this a lifestyle,” Eskom said.
Eskom’s executive management committee is expected to provide an update on Monday on the state of the power system and forecast for the upcoming months.
