Four suspects arrested in connection with the torching of ten Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa) coaches have been released from custody.
The suspects were due to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Prasa lost R50 million as a result of the incident, which took place in December.
Chief Public Prosecutor Phumeza Futshane says the matter will be back in court as soon as investigations are complete.
"A team of senior prosecutors was put together to evaluate the statements and evidence brought before us and after a throughout evaluation of the case, it transpired that we need more meat. The evidence we have shows that there is a serious offense that took place that needs intense and serious investigation."
Futshane says they don't want to rush the case.
