The recently acquired trains as well as the recovery and action plans to address challenges at the entity will also be discussed by the committee.

Yesterday, the Acting Group CEO of PRASA, Collins Letsoalo refused to comment on the recent controversy involving Minister of Transport Dipuo Peters.

In a letter, which surfaced last week, Peters ordered Prasa to close off its investigation into irregularities.

"The Minister asked the Prasa Board to close off the investigation process as soon as possible and submit a detailed report indicating the progress and the outcome of the investigation. On the basis of the report to be submitted by Prasa, a determination of any further investigation and a way forward will subsequently be made after studying the report in detail. To this end, the Minister has not received such a report by the Board," the Department of Transport said.

Letsoalo refuted allegations that money might have been paid into the ruling party's bank account for a contract that was issued.

"What I can assure you is that there is no money of Prasa that was paid into any political party's bank account. That one I can assure you because we do financials. And we did this."
