Prasa to oppose former CEO’s application to challenge dismissal

The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa) will oppose a Labour Court application by its former CEO Zolani Matthews.
Matthews indicated earlier this week that he intends to bring an application to challenge his dismissal from the passenger rail agency.
He has filed an urgent court application seeking an immediate reinstatement as Prasa Group CEO.
Matthews was axed from the entity earlier this month for failing to disclose the fact that he holds dual citizenship.
Matthews held the position as the CEO of the struggling entity for about nine months.
Prasa chairperson Leonard Ramatlakane says it will oppose the application.
“Prasa will vehemently oppose this meritless application and it will seek an appropriate cost order against Mr. Zolani Kgosietsile Matthews.”
