Pretoria: Residents could be in the dark for days
Pretoria residents are frustrated as they enter a second day without electricity.
According to the Tshwane Metro Municipality, various suburbs in Pretoria East have been left without power following a fire at the Mooikloof 132KV substation.
Tshwane Metro's Lindela Mashigo says they are in the process of determining the exact cause as well as extend of the damage.
The following areas were left without power:
- Moretela Park
- Pretorius Park
- Garsfontein
- Boardwalk Meander
- Woodhill
- The Wilds
- Mooikloof
- Mooikloof Ridge
- Onbekend
- Zwavelpoort
- Mooikloof Agricultural Holding
Some of the larger power consumers affected include Woodlands Mall and Pretoria East Hospital, the city officals say.
They also warned residents to treat all network points as live at all times.
