Private funeral for Bra Hugh

The funeral of jazz legend
Hugh Masekela will be a private affair.

Masekela’s son, Sal Masekela, says only family and friends will be allowed to attend.
Masekela died aged 78 following a long battle with cancer.
Members of the public will
also be given the opportunity to mourn the legendary artist, with the family
promising different events to be held accross the country.

An oncologist responsible for looking after Masekela during his radiation treatment, Dr Yastira Ramdas, said Masekela fought until the end.
“He was such a strong minded and full of life, spirited individual.
“He was a true inspiration to all cancer patients, and he fought hard until the bitter end.”

Ramdas paid tribute to Masekela.
“Go well my dear person, you
will immensely be missed.”
The date of the funeral is yet to be announced.
