Probe into Tsakane police station assault
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
Gauteng police have launched an investigation into the alleged assault of a civilian by one of the police officers at the Tsakane police station in Ekurhuleni.

The incident was captured on camera and has since gone viral on social media.
Both the sergeant and the civilian have opened cases of assault and crimen injuria against each other.
Gauteng police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said an internal disciplinary case will also be opened against the officer.
"The management of SAPS in Gauteng has noted with disappointment the video circulating on social media whereby a uniformed policewoman is seen slapping a member of the public in Tsakane police station.
"This behaviour is uncalled for, and the SAPS code of conduct advocates for clients to be treated with respect and integrity at all times.”
No arrests have been made.
