Progress meeting to be held in North West
Updated | By Neo Leeuw
A meeting to assess progress in the Madibeng municipality in the North West would be held this week, the premier's spokesman said on Sunday.
The special exco meeting would be held in Mahikeng on Wednesday, spokesman Lesiba Kgwele said.
"Premier Thandi Modise said the meeting was aimed at determining urgent appropriate interventions where progress has not been registered since administrators and experts were deployed to the four municipalities," he said.
The areas placed under administration included Madibeng, Ditsobotla, Maquassi Hills and Matlosana.
The municipality was placed under administration in 2009 and 2010.
The meeting would also consider an update report on performance of all municipalities across the province.
Three people died in protests over a lack of water in Mothutlung, near Brits, in the municipality this week.
