Protest action closes Golden Highway
Protesters have barricaded the Golden Highway with burning tyres and rocks on Thursday morning after a group attempted to occupy land in Evaton West on the East Rand.
The Red Ants managed to evict the group which led to the protest.
Acording to Constable Thabang Molefi Public Order Police have been deployed to the scene to disperse the protesters.
"The Golden Highway from Graceland to Evaton West has been barricaded with stones and tires due to a protest ", he says.
According to reports on Twitter the protest has approached Evaton Mall and police are firing rubber bullets
