Some 300 Krugersdorp residents attempted to block Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) officials from erecting their tent on the final voter registration weekend ahead of the elections.

The protestors are intent on shutting down the local voter registration station and preventing residents from registering for the polls.
"Officers are at the scene and we will continue to monitor the situation," says Gauteng police spokesperson Kay Makhubele.
Yesterday, several roads leading to the local IEC stations in the Krugersdorp area were barricaded with burning tyres and objects.
Several people have been arrested in connection with the protests.
"We have arrested four people in Ivory Park - two males and two females,” says Makhubele.
"The suspects were blocking people from going to register and protested about service delivery.
"A case of public violence has been registered and the suspects will appear in court tomorrow."
