This province spends the most on beer
The world is celebrating International Beer Day, but how much do South Africans spend on their favourite tipple?
According to Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) households in Mpumalanga lead the way, spending more on beer than any other province in the country.
The Northern Cape comes in second, followed by North West and Limpopo.
Drinkers in the Western Cape spends the least money on beer, which isn't surprising since the brew is the most expensive in that province.
South Africans on average spend 2.1% of their monthly income on beer.
