Provincial government will continue providing services: Makhura
Updated | By Samkele Maseko
Gauteng premier David Makhura hopes that all municipalities will be in place by 20 August.

Makhura briefed the media this morning, following the Local Government Elections which produced 11 hung councils in the province.
Makhura says the election results are a reflection of the will of the people and that the provincial government will keep on providing services while political parties negotiate possible coalitions.
He says instability and paralysis is never in the best interests of citizens.
"We would like to make sure from our standpoint that government continues to function in this province, even in the affected municipal areas. The primary reason we are communicating this message is we have put in place systems and we want to make sure that, as the parties go through their own processes, we continue to provide service delivery, especially on those things that we are responsible for as the provincial government. I can tell you that there will be no impact," Makhura said.
