Public violence case opened amid Diepkloof protests
Updated | By Mmangaliso Khumalo
Johannesburg metro police spokesperson Xolani Fihla says a case of public violence has been opened at the Diepkloof police station.

Angry community members took to the streets on Monday morning, barricading roads with burning tyres and rocks.
This is the second time the residents took to the streets to complain over a lack of electricity, houses, water and sanitation.
During the protest some members of the community looted a truck transporting alcohol at the N12 west near the Diepkloof Interchange.
Fihla says passing vehicles were also being stoned.
"We have received reports of passing vehicles being stoned and earlier this morning a truck transporting alcohol was looted and the driver sustained slight injuries. The truck is still positioned at the N12 west before the Diepkloof interchange where it was looted and officers are awaiting its removal.
"A case of public violence has been opened at Diepkloof SAPS. No arrests have been made so far. Motorists are urged to excerise extreme caution when travelling in that area."
Officers will continue to monitor the area for any further violence.
