PYA warns students against violent protests
Updated | By ANA
The Progressive Youth Alliance on Thursday spoke out against the chaos caused by “self-appointed” #feesmustfall ring leaders.

ANC Youth League National President Colleen Maine said: “We will go to all universities to talk to young people about not starting violence in the name of PYA and the movement.”
They said the issues raised by the #feesmustfall campaign were points the organisation had been focusing on since its inception.
“Free and access to education is a campaign under our Right To Learn programme,” said Thabo Moloja, president of the South African Students Congress.
Maine encouraged young people to go back to studying and to stop the violence because South African President Jacob Zuma had promised that there would be no fee increase for 2016.
The PYA is made up of the ANCYL, the Young Communist League of South Africa and Sasco.
