"They will appear again in court for a bail hearing on 16 October 2014," Colonel Tembinkosi Kinana said in a statement.

The men, aged between 24 and 34, appeared in court on Monday.

They were arrested at Rooshoek Farm in Wellington on Friday after police received a tip-off.

Most of the 20,456 perlemoen confiscated were undersized, he said.

During a search of the property, police found equipment used to dry and process the perlemoen.
