R50 000 for information on man's murder
Updated | By sibahle motha
Motha, 46, was reported missing at Akasia police station in Pretoria on June 4, 2009.
He left home on June 3, informing his wife that he was going to see a friend at Soshanguve, north of Pretoria.
His body was discovered in a veld at the side of Skietfontein Road in GaRankuwa on June 5.
He had several stab wounds to the chest and his clothes were partially burned after a failed attempt to burn his body.
"The investigations revealed that Motha was abandoned at the scene after he was killed somewhere [else], and the veld was set alight to cover-up some evidence," Makgale said.
His car was later recovered in Arcadia, outside the city centre of Pretoria, parked at the corner of Wessel and Schoeman streets (now Francis Baard).
"A reward of R50,000 has been made available to anyone who could provide the investigating officer with information which can assist to arrest and convict those who are responsible for this gruesome incident.
