Heroin valued at R7.9million has been confiscated at the Lebombo border post.
South African Revenue Service (Sars) officials say sniffer dogs led officials to the drugs.
The heroin was concealed in a Corsa bakkie travelling between Mozambique and South Africa.
Sars spokesperson Janine Mqulwana says: "The drugs, wrapped in 25 yellow parcels, were found hidden in the door panels and behind the driver seat of a bakkie entering South Africa from Mozambique."
The parcels weighed 26.6kg.
The suspect has been arrested.
"He was arrested for contravening the Customs and Excise Act and Drug Trafficking Act."
