Rabbi Eliezer Berland appears in court
Updated | By Slindelo Masikane
The case against fugitive Rabbi Eliezer Berland has been postponed to next week Wednesday for a bail application.

The rabbi is wanted in Israel for a number of alleged sexual crimes and has been on the run for over four years.
Wearing prayer attire, the 80 year-old rabbi appeared briefly before the Randburg Magistrates Court.
The state prosecutor told the magistrate they need more time to prepare as they plan to oppose bail.
The defense indicated that the rabbi suffers from a heart condition and will need to be kept in local cells.
The magistrate ordered that Berland be kept at the Randburg cells and that he only be attended to by his personal doctor.
