Ramaphosa to address on Covid-19 restrictions ‘soon’ - Cabinet

President Cyril Ramaphosa is set to address the nation soon on possible further Covid-19 restrictions.

This was announced by the Minister in the Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni on Thursday morning while briefing the media on the this week’s Cabinet meeting.
The country is entering the third wave of infections, with the daily infection rate topping 4 000 on Wednesday.
Ntshavheni says Cabinet is concerned about the spike of infections, deaths and active case of Covid-19 in recent weeks.
"As Cabinet, we are discussing and consulting on the measures to sure we protect South Africans," said Ntshavheni.
"A decision will be taken soon after the consultation and we will announce a date in which the president then host the family meeting.
"We can confirm to South Africans; there will be a family meeting soon."
