Ramaphosa extends SARS' boss tenure
Updated | By Mmangaliso Khumalo
President Cyril Ramaphosa on Tuesday agreed to extend South African Revenue Service commissioner Edward Kieswetter's tenure.
Kieswetter term was set to end in April when a new commissioner would be appointed.
In March 2019, President Ramaphosa appointed Kieswetter for a five-year term.
The Presidency's spokesperson Vincent Magwenya said his term would be extended to allow for a smooth transition for the new commissioner.
"The president and the SARS commissioner have agreed to extend the tenure of the commissioner beyond the end of his term to enable an orderly transition in the organisation."
