Ramaphosa heads to Eastern Cape to assess flood damage
Updated | By Nokukhanya N Mntambo
President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to visit flood-stricken Port St Johns in the Eastern Cape on Thursday.

Last week the province saw massive damage to infrastructure and property following days of heavy rains.
Roads, bridges and houses were all damaged.
Ramaphosa will visit the hardest hit areas in the province to offer support to affected communities and assess government's response to the situation.
His visit to the Eastern Cape follows a similar trip to KZN where severe flooding was also recorded last week.
The magnitude of the KZN floods far surpasses any other natural disaster seen by the country in recent years.
The estimated cost to get parts of the province up and running again will likely be in the billions of rands.
The death toll is now close to 450, while the Eastern Cape registered fewer fatalities.
A national state of disaster has been declared as both provinces begin to pick up the pieces.
