He was addressing the community during District Development Model Imbizo at Matodi Sports Complex today.

The president, who was flanked by almost his entire cabinet accorded some ministers the opportunity to interact with members of the community.

Residents raised issues ranging from the water crisis and poor road infrastructure to sporting facilities for people who live with disabilities.

With Sekhukhune rich in minerals such as chrome and copper, there is no mining academy within the district.

Residents requested the government to build institutions of higher learning that will equip young people with skills relevant to mining activities.

"It's about time that here in the area that is concentrated with minerals, that we should uplift the young people of this district, the young people of Limpopo with meaningful skills development.

"The skills that will revolve around mining, engineering, metallic... and all the other related courses and those young people must be taught here, in Sekhukhune.

"Mining companies, let's work together with government and built mining academy and college here in Sekhukhune," said Ramaphosa.
