Ramaphosa vows to solve Emfuleni service delivery woes
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
President Cyril Ramaphosa says the government will solve the service delivery crisis in Emfuleni.
Ramaphosa led an oversight visit by the government to Emfuleni on Friday.
The municipality has been plagued by corruption and mismanagement for years.
It has also faced difficulties in the provision of water services, which resulted in the Department of Water and Sanitation intervening to upgrade critical bulk pipelines and pump station infrastructure.
The president visited the wastewater treatment plant before meeting with stakeholders in the area.
"I was exposed to the havoc, damage that sewage water has done, it is when we see these things that we are able to come up with solutions and interventions. I have seen and I will be back to see the progress," said Ramaphosa
"People said they were grateful that government has come to see for myself, but we are grateful for the intervention of section 63 that is being implemented here."
