Ramaphosa wants judicial commission of inquiry into state capture
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa says he fully supports the proposed judicial commission of inquiry into allegations of state capture.

Ramaphosa was speaking at the Chris Hani Memorial in the Eastern Cape today.
"Allegations of state capture should be put to rest. We should talk about them openly instead of gossiping about the allegations.
"We know there is an elephant in the room and we know what that elephant is.
"I therefore support the idea of a judicial commission of inquiry," said Ramaphosa.
Former Public Protector Thuli Madonsela recommended a judicial commission of inquiry in her State of Capture report. The report recommends that Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng appoint a judge to head up the commission. President Jacob Zuma is taking the report on review.
But Ramaphosa believes the ANC should support an inquiry.

"The ANC must therefore support the establishment an effective credible mechanism to investigate these claims and a judicial commission has been suggested."
