Ramaphosa: Winnie was a voice for the voiceless
President Cyril Ramaphosa has paid tribute to Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, saying the world will not forget her contribution to the struggle for freedom.
"Mam' Winnie was an abiding symbol of desire of our people to be free. In the mist of repression she was a voice of defiance and resistance. In the face of exploitation she was a champion of justice and equality."
Madikizela-Mandela died at the Netcare Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg on Monday morning.

Ramaphosa lauded Madikizela-Mandela for the role she played. He said "throughout her life, she made an everlasting contribution to the struggle through sacrifice and her unyielding determination."
Scores of mourners flocked to Madikizela-Mandela's home in Soweto on Monday evening.
