The ANC supporters from the Molemole sub-region were involved in a crash while travelling to the party's 112th-anniversary celebration at Mbombela stadium in Mpumalanga on Saturday.

Five people were killed after their bus was involved in an accident on the R71 road in Magoebaskloof outside Tzaneen.

Ramathuba says social workers and psychologists are busy assisting those who need psychosocial support.

President Cyril Ramaphosa is also paying a courtesy visit to the patients at Mankweng Hospital outside Polokwane today

He will then proceed to meet five bereaved families of those who died and later engage those who got discharged at Eisleben Community Hall in Molemole Local Municipality.

"We appreciate because the president himself has indicated he will also want to see those who have been discharged. He will also want to see anyone who was involved and that people might take it for granted, but it's part of therapy.

"For us in the health department we are really appreciating this support because this is a major support, a major boost which is even much more than having to put patients on antidepressants," she said.
