Speaker of the Limpopo legislature, Makoma Makhurupetje, said its all systems go for Friday’s State of the Province Address.

Premier Phophi Ramathuba will deliver the address at Jack Botes hall in Polokwane on Friday following her election as first female premier of the province.


The ANC has 48 seats, the EFF nine, the DA four, while the Freedom Front Plus, MK Party and United Africans Transformation each have one seat.


Makhurupetje said they are expecting over 800 people to attend the function, which is set to cost taxpayers R2.5 million.


"This is an opportunity afforded to the premier to set the tone for the provincial government service delivery roadmap in the 7th administration and to outline key-strategic objectives for the next five years.


"It is equally important to indicate that there will be strict security measures enforced during the proceedings, to ensure that all our guests and members of the media are safe.”


STREET CLOSURES:


The following streets in the Polokwane CBD might be be affected: Bodenstein from Biccard to Paul Kruger, Thabo Mbeki from Biccard to Paul Kruger.


Schoeman Street between Thabo Mbeki and Bodenstein, Church between Thabo Mbeki and Rabe.


Rabe between Market and General Joubert, Paul Kruger between Thabo Mbeki and Rabe.


Biccard street between Thabo Mbeki street and Bodenstein street and Hans van Rensburg between Thabo Mbeki and Bodenstein.
