[READ] Montana letter accuses Zondo of turning commission into ‘farce’

Former Passenger Rail Agency South Africa (Prasa) CEO Lucky Montana has written a scathing letter to Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo, accusing him of turning the state capture inquiry into a farce.

The commission is investigating Montana’s multimillion-rand property purchase and whether he used Prasa money to fund his purchases.

The two properties are said to be worth R25 million.

Montana has disputed the allegations, saying he has been involved in various property deals since 1998.

"Under your watch, this commission is turning into a farce and is not dignified because you seem to be impervious to the truth,” he wrote to Zondo.

"If you think that some of us will stand by and allow ourselves to be humiliated, then you are making a big mistake."

Montana says he will return to the Zondo commission in September after mourning the death of his mother.
