Record increase in Covid-19 related deaths

More that 200 people have succumbed to deaths linked to coronavirus, in the 24 hours leading up to Thursday evening.
The latest daily report by Health Minister, Dr Zweli Mkhize, shows that 216 people have died as a result of the virus, bringing the total number of deaths to 4 669.
Gauteng has reported 86 deaths, while there were 46 new deaths in the Western Cape.

“KwaZulu-Natal has 41 reported deaths, the Free State has 10, while Mpumalanga recorded seven. The number of new Covid-19 cases has also increased by a whopping 13 172,” reads the statement.
Meanwhile, South Africa’s recovery rate has steadily increased from 48% to 51% in one week.
