The remains of a 19-month old toddler have been recovered in Limpopo, after she was allegedly abducted by a man her mother met on social media.

Hlawuleka Prosperity Rikhotso was kidnapped at Xawela Village in February 2020.
However, the suspect died in police cells three weeks later without admitting to the crime or divulging the whereabouts of the child.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo says community members discovered the little girl’s remains near Xawela Block 23 on Tuesday.
“The police were called and on arrival, they also found the toddler’s clothes next to the remains.”
“Preliminary investigations have revealed that the remains are believed to be that of the kidnapped toddler,” says Mojapelo.
