Jayde Panayiotou, 28, was last seen at about 06:30 on Tuesday outside her residential block, Stellen Glen, in Deacon Road, Kabega Park.
She had been waiting for her daily lift to Riebeek College Girls High School in Uitenhage where she is a teacher, but was not at the complex when her lift arrived.
Police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg said members of the Police's Air Wing was flying over Kwanobuhle on Wednesday at 10:00 as part of their search, when they noticed something among the bushes. They alerted the team on the ground, who discovered the body.
The cause of death has not been confirmed.
Money appeared to have been withdrawn from her account at an ATM in Kwanobuhle, a township near Uitenhage, police spokesperson Warrant Officer Alwin Labans told The Herald newspaper.
A massive search continued throughout Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
A family member, Peter Becker, told the newspaper they just want her back.
Panayiotou's family had offered a R50 000 reward for Jaydes safe return, News24 reported on Tuesday.
