Ramokgopa aims to succeed the ANC's Panyaza Lesufi as Gauteng premier following the May 29 elections.

She said the party’s plans include the creation of 600,000 jobs and ensuring more transparent tender processes.

“Any member of this province should be able to see who got a tender. How much was it? What was the original invoice? What was the final invoice? So we can hold our government accountable”.

Ramokgopa said her party will also make it easier for residents to blow the whistle on corruption.

“We will protect whistleblowers and build independent platforms for them to be able to report corruption within government. We know that our crisis in this province and in our country is fundamentally a leadership one. We will ensure that we elect and appoint the best leaders”.

She believes the party’s economic growth and job creation targets can be met if corrupt politicians are removed from office.

"RISE Mzansi has one urgent priority for Gauteng: good government. This means voting in new leaders who will clean up the mess made by the current failed government.

“It means ending corruption and the deployment of incompetent and clueless cadres. It means removing entrenched insiders who are there simply to eat and replacing them with the best officials, whom we know exist, but who are overlooked.

“It means making Gauteng a place of meritocracy, accountability, and transparency. It means turning the province into a high-functioning government that is efficient and responsive.

“The basic function of a government is to ensure the safety, health, and prosperity of its people. Currently, the Gauteng province is succeeding at none of these. The current leaders are out of ideas and out of touch. They are obsessed with PR and being in front of cameras instead of service delivery," said Ramokgopa.
