The risk of loadshedding was low on Monday morning, and the power system was stable, Eskom said.

“Eskom has not implemented loadshedding over the past 15 successive days,” Eskom said.

“Eskom’s aim is to meet the country’s electricity needs and maintain its power generating units with minimal or no loadshedding.”

Eskom said if it experienced “additional generating unit failure” the possibility of loadshedding would intensify.

The power utility appealed to customers to continue reducing their electricity usage and to be aware to save more during the peak periods, from 6am to 10am and from 5pm to 9pm.
