The Springbok rugby team's poor performances this season was discussed in Parliament yesterday.
SA Rugby president, Mark Alexander told the Portfolio Committee on Sport there are two main reasons for the Springboks' struggle.
"I think the absence of a strategy to play young players for a number of years have caught up with us in 2016. We are also afflicted with 27 injuries," said Alexander.

While many Springbok fans want to see the back of Coach Allister Coetzee, some politicians do not believe his axing would solve the problems bedevilling the team.
"I don't think the coach is where the finger should be pointing," said an MP.
"There is no need to take out Allister Coetzee. You need to assist him and give him support," said another.
