SA Express says it is not only focussing on getting its flights back up-and-running but also on restoring passengers’ confidence in the airline.

In May, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) grounded the embattled airline following an audit that found safety concerns.

Acting CEO, Matsietsi Mokholo says they expect to be back in the air within the next two weeks but will first “assure our customers that its not only about safety but giving them comfort that we would do things totally different as we get airborne”.

According to Mokholo, the CAA will lift the airline's suspension if the test flight scheduled for Friday runs smoothly.

“As much as we are looking at revenue, we have put it as the last measure. The biggest thing for us is the impact of the grounding on our customers especially the confidence and believe our safety would be of the standard they were are accustomed to.”

Mokholo says there will be changes to the the airline’s routes SA Express once it is back in the air.
