SA Express: We will get our wings back
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
Embattled airline SA Express has vowed to return to the skies after being grounded due to safety concerns.

"This time we approach it totally, totally different. A paradigm shift," says SA Express' acting CEO Matsietsi Mokholo.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) grounded SA Express after inspections found 17 contraventions in aviation rules. Five of these were found to be serious.
An 'intervention-team' has been setup to fix, among others, governance issues including vacant top leadership positions.

Although this is not the first time domestic airline has been grounded, Mokholo says "this one, it sent shock waves through the entire organisation."
Mokholo says even though they've lost the confidence of passengers, they are aiming to return to the skies as soon as possible.

"We are looking at the root causes, but also avoiding the mistakes we made in the past, where we just responded without details to CAA, without giving them confidence. If we are given an opportunity to come back, and our licences suspensions are lifted or reinstated - what is it that we are going to do differently?" Mokholo says.
