SA football fans set to return to stadiums

It’s been two years since South African football fans were able to enjoy watching their favourite players and clubs in the flesh.
Spectators at all sporting events were banned in March 2020 following the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
President Cyril Ramaphosa recently announced a lifting of various Covid-19 restrictions. The new regulations allow venues to host up to 50% capacity.
PSL chairperson Irvin Khoza, who held a press briefing on Tuesday afternoon, says the Nedbank quarter-finals on 8 and 9 April have been earmarked for the return of fans.

“The executive committee formulated the guidelines and set out the steps to be taken and stressing the importance of compliance. These guidelines will assist members clubs to permit the return of spectators to professional football matches in a responsible and most importantly safe fashion.
“Fans will be required to produce a vaccine certificate or a negative Covid-19 test, not older than two days, and proof of identification."
