SA reaches Covid-19 jab milestone

The National Department of Health on Monday succeeded to administer more than 200 000 Covid-19 vaccines in one day, for the first time.
In its latest report, the department says a total of 223 969 Covid-19 jabs were administered.
This came on the same day as the government also kicked off its vaccination programme for the Social Development Sector.
Gauteng is the leading province with 58 923 vaccines administered in the last 24 hours.
The Eastern Cape administered 36 641, followed by KwaZulu-Natal with 34 773.
The Western Cape gave 30 753 jabs, Limpopo 22 504, the Free State 12 761, Mpumalanga 11 277, the North West 11 389 and the Northern Cape 4 948.
This brings the total number of vaccines administered in the country since the start of the programme to 5 328 110.
