SA records over 2 000 new Covid-19 cases

South Africa has recorded 2 073 new Covid-19 cases over the last 24 hours.
This is the highest daily infections reported in a couple of weeks.
This brings the country’s total number of Covid-19 cases to 1 588 221.
In his latest report, Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize also confirms 46 new Covid-19 related deaths.
“We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased patients,” says Mkhize.
Mpumalanga, North West and Western Cape recorded zero fatalities.
The Free State reported one new related fatality, the Northern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal 2, Eastern Cape 4, Limpopo 18 and Gauteng 19.
This brings the country’s death toll to 54 557 deaths.
The country’s recovery rate stands firm at 95%.
