SA registers 3,332 new confirmed Covid-19 cases, majority of deaths' in the Free State

According to Health Minister, Zweli Mkhize, Gauteng had the most active cases at 10 717, followed by the Northern Cape with 7 080, and the Free State with 6 779.
As of Friday, the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases identified in South Africa was 1 628 335.
This as the country recorded 3 332 new confirmed cases in the latest reporting period.
According to Health Minister, Zweli Mkhize, Gauteng had the most active cases at 10 717, followed by the Northern Cape with 7 080, and the Free State with 6 779.
On Friday, rating agency Fitch announced that it was keeping the country's credit rating unchanged with the outlook as negative following on, among other, concerns about the country's slow vaccine roll-out.

By Friday, 161 717 citizens had received the first dose of the Phizer jab, while 480 665 healthcare workers had received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine through the Sisonke Programme.
Also on Friday, Mkhize announced 151 more Covid-19 related deaths with the majority of those being recorded in the Free sTATE.
The cumulative recoveries stood at 1 534 350, representing a recovery rate of 94,2%.
