SAA 'fake' pilot case postponed to May
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
Former South African Airways (SAA) senior pilot, William
Chandler, is expected back in the Kempton Park Magistrate's Court on 15 May.
Chandler made his first brief appearance in court yesterday on charges of forgery and uttering.
Police spokesperson Vish Naidoo says Chandler was released on R5000 bail.
"Yesterday morning, his lawyers handed him over to the police at OR Tambo International Airport where he was charged," says Naidoo.
It is alleged that Chandler had flown commercial airplanes for more than 20 years with a fake licence.
He resigned earlier this year after being requested to do so by SAA authorities.
