SAAF member killed in truck crash near Potch
The South African National Defence Force has confirmed the death of a South African Air Force member in a crash on Wednesday.
In a statement, the SANDF says two SAAF members were travelling to Potchefstroom when the car they were travelling in collided with a truck on the R54 towards Potchefstroom.
The Defence Force says one of the members died in the crash while the other was transported to hospital.
“The two were tasked to deliver equipment to be used during the Youth Week celebration closing parade fly-past on Friday, 23 June 2023 in Potchefstroom,” the SANDF said in a statement.
“Sadly, one member lost his life and the second member was rushed to the nearest hospital where he is receiving medical attention.”
