SABC seeks to reverse irregular appointments
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) plans to file an application at the Labour Court which seeks to have irregular appointments declared unlawful, invalid and set aside.
Some 28 employees might soon sit without a job as the public broadcaster cleans house.
Spokesperson Vuyo Mthembu says all affected parties will be afforded an opportunity to oppose the application, which is set to be filed on Tuesday.

“The application follows recommendations of the reports of the public protector and the parliamentary ad hoc Committee, as well as the SABC’s internal investigation on irregular appointments,” says Mthembu.
The struggling state-owned entity says ongoing investigations might reveal more irregular appointments.
