SACP concerned over ANC alliance
Updated | By Samkele Maseko
South African Communist Party leader Blade Nzimande said there were serious concerns over the state of their alliance with the ANC.
Nzimande was addressing the central committee of the mineworkers union NUM and said the SACP felt that the ANC was abusing their loyalty.
The SACP leader said the sentiment was growing inside the party and was made worse by attacks on communists from inside the ANC.
Nzimande said he wants a meeting with the ANC Top 6
"We are faced with a very difficult situation, because an increasing number in the party are feeling that our discipline and loyalty to the movement is being abused by some in the ANC and that must come to an end if we are to save and take this movement forward," Nzimande said.
Tensions between the ANC and SACP have been simmering, with the communists unhappy over issues of state capture and the Gupta family's influence on some in the ruling party.
