Updated | By JacarandaFM News
The South African Communist Party (SACP) in Gauteng is expected to picket at the National Treasury in Pretoria on Friday.
The party's Gauteng Provincial Secretary Jacob Mamabolo said the picket is part of its Financial Sector Campaign (FSC) and the fight against corporate state capture, corruption and looting of the state.
Mamabolo said the picket will also defend South Africa, which is being reduced to "a neo-colonial playground of capitalist interests such us the Guptas, Ruperts, Allan Grey and Oppenheimers".
"The picket will also highlight the need to defend of our national sovereignty and sound financial institutions against corporate capture by parasitic and corrupt networks as well as the need to create an effective, efficient and sound Post Bank to take over the payment of Social Grants in line with the Constitutional Court decision."
Mamabolo said the picket also highlight alleged corrupt transactions identified by the Public Protector that need to be thoroughly investigated as well as the need to defend state-owned enterprises against looting, corruption and naked self-interests.
